 Every Minute Counts
Lateness = Lost Learning (the figures below are calculated over a school year)
Did you Know?
5 minutes late each day = 3 days lost!
10 minutes late each day = 6.5 days lost!
15 minutes late each day=  10 days lost!
20 minutes late each day = 13 days lost!
30 minutes late each day = 19 days lost!

 The Government made amendments to the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006 which came into force on 1st September 2013. These state that Headteachers may not grant any leave of absence for holidays during the term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Parents needing leave of absence for exceptional circumstances should complete a form at least two weeks before the anticipated start date. The reason for the request should be given in detail.

UPDATE:
Derbyshire County Council have introduced interim measures which state that holidays will still be unauthorised unless there are exceptional circumstances.
If your child's attendance is at or below 94.7% over the previous 12 months, calculated from the week after the holiday absence, penalty notices may still be issued by DCC.

If absence becomes a concern, the Education Welfare Service may get involved to resolve any problems. During this process they may need to speak with the your child.
As a school we will continue to support with attendance by;
-sending letters home to alert parents to low attendance
-arranging attendance panels to establish how we can support and explain next steps
